About the workshop
Knowledgeable help, without the theatre.
Fit For Purpose Golf is an independent workshop in East Lothian, created for golfers who care about their equipment but do not want to be talked down to or oversold.

A practical approach
Keep what works. Improve what can be improved.
The workshop focuses on understanding the issue first. That could mean refreshing trusted clubs, rebuilding a damaged one, checking a set for inconsistencies, or discussing whether an adjustment is sensible.
The aim is clear advice and careful work for pleasure golfers who play regularly and want confidence in what is in their bag.
Based in East Lothian, Scotland’s Golf Coast, the workshop can also support selected enquiries remotely where the job is suitable.
Inside the workshop
Measured, checked and prepared with care.
Clubs are measured, checked, repaired, rebuilt, regripped, adjusted and prepared with care. Each job starts at the bench with the club itself — its length, loft, lie, shaft, grip and swing weight — so any work is based on what is actually there.
The workshop is run by Stephen Bedford, who has spent years building, adjusting and repairing clubs for golfers who want their equipment to feel right without unnecessary fuss. The approach is hands-on, practical and shaped by real workshop experience rather than sales targets.
Workshop notes, build details and repair examples will be shared through curated updates and Instagram.
